Paoli Dam, born October 4, 1980, is an Indian actress who began her career in 2004 with the Bengali television series Jibon Niye Khela. She then worked in Bengali television series such as Tithir Atithi and Sonar Harin; the first worked for six years on ETV Bangla. Dam spent his childhood in Kolkata. Her first Bengali film – Teen Yaari Katha, directed by Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha – debuted in 2004, but did not come out before 2012. The first release of Dam’s film was Agnipariksha.

Dam was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, to a Bengali family from Faridpur district, Bangladesh. His father and mother are Amol and Papiya Dam respectively. She also has a brother, Mainak.

Dam attended Loreto School in Bowbazar before taking his high school exam. She was a good student and won scholarships. Dam was admitted to Vidyasagar College, affiliated with the University of Calcutta, where he earned a degree in Chemistry. She earned a postgraduate degree in chemistry from the Rajabazar Science College of Calcutta University.

She learned classical dance and became interested in theater from an early age, but never aspired to become an actress.

In 2012, Dam began working on Konkani’s film, Baga Beach, directed by Laxmikant Shetgaonkar. The actress said in an interview: “I like working in different types of films, I met Laxmikant Shetgaonkar at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011, then I heard her screenplay for Baga Beach and I loved it. I thought it would be a very unique work experience in a Konkani film, and I thought 15 to 20 days of engagement in a movie was not much to give.
